St Simons Island Beaches
St. Simons Island has glorious beaches that can stretch out for hundreds of yards at low tide. Coast Cottages is located at the largest part of the St. Simons beaches, just south of East Beach and the old Coast Guard Station. This is the finest beach on the island.
St Simons Island Golf
If not for the beach, golf would be king on St. Simons Island and the surrounding area. St. Simons Island is home to three golf clubs on the Island and 234 holes of golf in the immediate area.
Bike Rentals and Bicycling on St Simons Island
This is one of our favorite family activities. Paved trails take you from Coast Cottages to the center of town or to the pier. Some homes have bicycles, but additional bikes can be rented five minutes by foot from Coast Cottages at Ocean Motion or in town at Monkey Wrench. Dining and Restaurants on St Simons Island
St. Simons Island has many wonderful places for seafood, casual and fine dining, but our favorite fine dining restaurants on the island are Halyards and Delaneys. Halyards, winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, can be found online at www.halyardsrestaurant.com.
St Simons Island Fishing
You can get your rod and bait at St. Simons Bait and Tackle near the pier – a five minute ride from Atlantus – and drop line at the pier or you can charter a boat for in shore or off shore fishing for Grouper, Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Redfish, Sea Bass, Whiting, Flounder, Tarpon, Shark and King Mackerel. Sailboats on St Simons

Fort Frederica, St. Simons Lighthouse and Christ Church
Built in 1736, 1807 (initially) and the 1700s, respectively, these island treasures provide an historical perspective of colonial and Civil War era Georgia.

Jekyll Island Club Hotel
Located on a Georgia barrier island of unusual natural beauty just a few miles from St. Simons, this historic hotel is a Victorian treasure. Recognized as a National Historic Landmark in 1978, it has been designated a Historic Hotel of America by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Originally a hunting retreat for the nation’s wealthy elite, the hotel today is a unique resort with architectural character and a charming historic ambience.

The Marshes of Glynn
Made famous by poet Sidney Lanier, these natural treasures are the first thing you’ll see as you cross the marshes approaching St. Simons Island. The birthplace of much of our sea life, a kayak or canoe trip offers you the best way to experience the area’s natural beauty.
Little St. Simons Island
Renowned for its unspoiled natural habitats and serene beaches, Little St. Simons Island is a private barrier island located just north of St. Simons Island, Georgia. Here you’ll find 10,000 acres of natural, undeveloped maritime forests and marshlands, 7 miles of pristine beaches and plenty of natural wonders to explore and discover.
Accessible by a private boat that departs from Hampton River Marina on the north end of St. Simons Island, Little St. Simons Island first opened to the public more than 3 decades ago and has since earned numerous accolades and award from various travel publications and writers. Day trips depart from St. Simons Island at 10:30am and return by 4:30pm, advance reservations are required.
